~ Khidki ~

~ Khidki ~

Hakeem luqmaan keh gaye,
Nahin dawa iss mar'z ki,
Umeed-e-shifa hai bas,
‘gar mile ek nazar aapki, yun jaate jaate…
Hui Alaamat-e-Khoobieh shayad,
Guzar tha ek din meri gali se,
Surkh sookhe patton main lipti,
Thi be-abroo khidki bhi meri ek arse se,
Palat kar yun taaka aapne,
Ki —
Basar hua ek sulgan ka seene main,
Jaan halaq main machli si aa atki,
Rooh beqaabu, wujood sunn,
Sannata mere ird-gird,
Harkat hui sirf zubann main,
Woh  fisali, fir sambhli — sambhalte hui boli,
‘Badi der kardi mehrbann aate aate…’

  3. Gud work, remind me of my urdu classes in Aligarh. Where we use to write hawala and khulasa of kalam of famous poets. I guess one day they are going to include your work for assignments. :D

  4. Sadia, aapbhi beech beech mein aise hi aajaya karo aur aise hi likh diya karo. Arid life mein jaise achanak springtime aa jaatha hai. Kya likhthi ho yaar... Poetry se phir se pyar ho jaatha hai. God bless.

  5. Sadia, not your talent...but the depth from where you reach into your heart, for these LIFE'S feelings, which your talent describes in words--THIS I admire. It is SO moving of emotions, So evoking the happenings in a soul. I read
second time, as if in trance.
Believe me, your efforts will live far beyond...time.
    PEACE and LIGHT, Sadia.
    Steve

And BRAVO for Amrit! What a true friend--who must know you well--to be capable to such churning your words into an ice-cream Sundae (Chocolate!) of reading delight.

  6. Which language is this? Is this Urdu or Hindi, though I could understand this in bits and pieces! How are you? Congratulations on the new book!

  9. So amazing Sadia! I don't know Urdu very well, but the language is beautiful :) Amrit translates it well, but the sound of the language is so soft and flowing here.
