A Little Pandora Box

A Little Pandora Box

Love-child of ‘Innocence’ and ‘Forbearance’
Fleshed from misery, in the womb of trouble
Floated in a thin sac of watery misfortune
Ivy bore the unripe fruit in draped fortune
Breech birth made the lush carpel infertile
Destiny succumbed to her silver-stone skin
Melancholy and grim being her better half
Her voice—soft, laughter—a fading dream
Fondly named her, Miss Little Pandora Box
Locked to keep intact all the outside mirth
—Twinge inflections and resentment wait
Ready to engulf everything in to the chest
They kept its lid fixed—for years to come,
Till date—
Little Pandora Box turns sixteen today
She lost her parents on a somber Friday
On Saturday she met the prince of fate
Tying the bond of bliss, to avoid the late
He unlocks the box—playing endurance
A green eye bears the virtue of patience
Sleeping Amulet in the uterus of verve
Liberated from the prison of eternal pain
Clandestine efforts from an aphelion
Letting loose the envelope, to erase—
The name—Miss Little Pandora Box
