Connoisseur
Of Aroma She Wa/is
Turmeric,
Cinnamon, or Cardamom stench
Something
alike, soaked into the wrench
Trying
to sniff in the whiff of fresh alien air
Cringed
my nose, to filter the maligned layer
Oh!
She must have done the age old delicacy
To
torture my present, through rotten fallacy
I
was 12, and my blameless tongue savored
Forlorn
Grandmas’ hand-cooked I devoured
The
taste forgotten, memories feed on smell
The
same address where reminiscence dwell
Kitchen
glass window wears a nagging crack
Smell
from the past, squeeze, seep, and slack
However
hard I squash the widened crevice
The
strength of the smell, carve me into slice
One
part manifesting the dreams of tomorrow
And,
other lingering to the bygone joy 'n sorrow
Heartrending
memories render my life—maim
Hurl
my smothering desires into blazing flame
Time
has winged by, bestowing a lovely dame
My
wife she is, and her chow smells the same...
nice...smell is so evocative...it takes us places...and brings back memories both good and bad....
