Time—not a plastic toy

Time—not a plastic toy

Deepest darkest shadow
Hiding in the hour-glass
Seeping into its’ camber
Winding along the neck
Weighting the free sand
—Hanging upside down
Loosen legs 'n arms of it
Fastened as—Entwined
Slacken-off vile strands
Crawling along the spine
—the impious hour-glass
They read— You’re near
Can skin-smell your fear
Look through your desire
And, can drain it to mire
Dreading 'n Intimidating
Forbidden—Incessant—
Those myriad sand grains
You fancy to get severed?
If not, dare not play with
—those slithering grains…

  3. This poem really creates a cool atmosphere here, Sadia. A bit eerie in its entirety. I was going to mention the last two lines Brian mentioned as well.
